It was a great pleasure meeting, listening to and learning from one of greatest thought leaders and anti-poverty champions, Prof. Muhammed Yunus. Yunus is 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Founder of Grameen Bank among other social mission businesses.
As his Social Business set up a Kes 5B fund in Kenya. Prof Yunus message to young people, students and young leaders was simple:
1. You don't need experience to do awesome things.
Imagine your world and get started on it. Dream the impossible. He built the biggest village bank. Grameen Foundation Bank with no banking experience. He built a bank that now has more savings than loans and is lending $3Billion to 9 million people who have saved more than $3Billion.
2. You are the most powerful generation.
The millennium Generation. Any dream and world you imagine, you will likely achieve because of the power of technology in our hands.
Everyone is entrepreneurial by nature.
We have come to believe in 1% theory but not all business's need to be ultra-successful but they can earn a dignified living. Why else would 300 Million women build out an honest living by borrowing micro-credit.
Don't think about looking for a Job. LOOK FOR A PROBLEM TO SOLVE. 58% of young people with no jobs are really 58% of young people waiting to be entrepreneurs.
