Meet Tim
From Kapkomora to building Kenya’s largest solar plant
Tim was born in Kapkomora village, Sambirir ward, Marakwet East. His father earned about KSh 3,000 a month. Tim walked to school barefoot and reached Chebara Boys and Strathmore University on scholarships.
At 27 he co-founded Questworks, which built Kenya’s largest solar plant and today employs more than 200 young people.
He is a husband and father, a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow, and the founder of Mentorthon, which mentors young people across Marakwet.
